Well, I missed it this year! For the last few years I have been anticipating the bitter cold. Not that I look forward to cold weather, mind you. But along the lines of “if life gives you lemons, make lemonade” I have waited for a string of cold days for the ponds to freeze over.
We have had enough sustained sub-freezing temperature to allow ice skating! And the ponds were pristine and smooth-glass ice. Unfortunately, today’s weather is bring snow which will dump all over the ponds and prevent ice skating. Bummer.
I suppose I will wait another year…
